Netflix released a standalone spinoff movie, The Rats: A Witcher Tale, at the same time as season four with no fanfare, trailer, or release date. The Rats are dead in season four except for Ciri, who used the name Falka and traveled with them; the group was slaughtered and decapitated by Leo Bonhart. The spinoff is set before season four, raising questions about its timing and Netflix's low-key rollout. After 2021 success, Netflix expanded the franchise with Nightmare of the Wolf, Blood Origin, and a planned children's animated series that never materialized. By November 2022, Redanian Intelligence reported another live-action spinoff in development.
