TCL has officially acquired a 51 percent stake in a new joint venture named Bravia Inc. for approximately 75.4 billion yen. Sony retains a 49 percent stake. Bravia Inc. will manage Sony's home entertainment business, including the development and manufacturing of Bravia televisions and audio systems. The joint venture will utilize TCL's advanced technology and supply chain to potentially lower product prices. Operations are set to begin in April 2027, with a focus on delivering new customer value and growth in the home entertainment sector.
