"The trailer teases a galaxy packed with action, featuring lightsaber-wielding warriors, Force users, bounty hunters, and a quick glimpse of Mandalorians. Another character, Marrok, first seen in the Disney+ series "Ahsoka," also makes a return, joining the fray alongside Maul."
Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord follows Maul after the Clone Wars as he resurfaces to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a remote planet untouched by the Empire. Lucasfilm Animation blends classic filmmaking techniques with a brushstroke-on-glass aesthetic to give the story a darker edge. The trailer showcases lightsaber-wielding warriors, Force users, bounty hunters, a glimpse of Mandalorians, and returns of a villain from Tales of the Jedi and Marrok from Ahsoka. The footage ends with Maul performing a deadly lightsaber move set to the notes of "Duel of the Fates." Sam Witwer reprises Maul, joined by Gideon Adlon, Wagner Moura, Richard Ayoade, and Steve Blum. The first two episodes premiere April 6 on Disney+, with weekly releases and the finale on May 4.
