"I went, Rolling, what do you mean rolling? Are you rolling a paper, are you rolling a joint?' Radioman said. They got a kick out of me. Bruce Willis approached Radioman after the take and immediately took a liking to him."
"I said to myself, Oh well, I'm sick of this kinda lifestyle, Radioman recalled. I didn't know what to do with myself. That's when he ran into Robin Williams. I didn't know who he was; he was dressed all disheveled, playing this crazy character in the middle of Central Park."
Craig Castaldo, known as Radioman, is a Brooklyn-born, Queens-raised New Yorker who has become a recognizable film icon appearing in over 300 movies. His entry into the film industry was accidental—he wandered onto the set of The Bonfire of the Vanities in 1990 while homeless, where Bruce Willis took a liking to him. His official debut came in the Oscar-winning 1991 film The Fisher King, where he met Robin Williams while struggling with homelessness, mental health issues, and alcoholism. After this breakthrough, Radioman began seeking out film shoots around the city with help from Teamsters members he befriended. His story is now documented in the YouTube series Craig Castaldo: The Real Radioman, which provides an unfiltered look at his extraordinary life and journey in Hollywood.
