The average household electricity bills will rise by €100 a year due to increased network charges approved by the energy regulator, adding further strain on consumers.
Daragh Cassidy pointed out that the higher network charges will limit energy suppliers' ability to reduce prices, as customers will likely bear the costs through increased standing charges or unit rates.
