"All good things must come to an end, and after a stellar run of Drag Race UK - season five, six and UK vs the World season two were all major fan favourite seasons - the latest season, season seven, has been a bit of a dud. This is hardly the fault of the 12 queens themselves, who have offered impeccable runways (Silllexa Diction, Bones), irrepressible charm ( Nyongbella, Paige Three, Sally™), romance ( Tayris Mongardi, Catrin Feelings) and, erm, Cher as chair (Bonnie Ann Clyde). Yet something about season seven has felt tepid and lacklustre."
"It could be this season's judging: between episode four and nine, five fan favourite queens were sent sashaying away well before their time, with the queens themselves questioning the choices of RuPaul and her fabulous cronies. It might be the challenges: the Snatch Game got an unnecessary revamp, the talent show came about strangely mid season, and the acting challenge was - as ever! - really, really bad. Not even recruiting a group of huns including Charlotte Church and Diane Parish for the season's makeover challenge could salvage this lackadaisical season."
RuPaul's Drag Race UK launched in 2019 and quickly introduced exceptional drag talent, memorable fashion, comedy, and viral lines. Several seasons became major fan favourites, but season seven registered as underwhelming. Twelve queens produced high-quality runways, displayed charm, and generated storylines, yet the overall season lacked momentum and standout television moments. Controversial judging between episodes four and nine eliminated multiple fan favourites earlier than expected. Challenges suffered from awkward changes and timing, including a revamped Snatch Game, a midseason talent show, and a notably poor acting challenge. A makeover with Charlotte Church and Diane Parish failed to revive the season's energy.
