The Boys season 5, episode 8 introduces Günter Van Ellis, described as the richest man in the world with 17 children and an amateur astronaut background. He wears a black Homelander hat resembling the MAGA hat Elon Musk has worn previously. The character tells Homelander he worries about white fertility rates, but Homelander immediately takes him to space where he dies offscreen in under a minute. Musk called the ending “pathetic,” while showrunner Erik Kripke replied with praise and the cast reacted with laughter on Instagram.
