Disney and YouTube TV reached a new licensing agreement that began restoring Disney-owned channels and local stations, including ESPN and ABC, to YouTube TV subscribers. The blackout began Oct. 30 when the previous carriage deal expired, leaving subscribers without Disney networks and disrupting college football, professional sports, news and entertainment coverage. Removed channels included NatGeo, FX, Freeform, SEC Network and ACC Network. YouTube TV accused Disney of proposing costly terms and using the blackout as a negotiating tactic that favored rival streaming products. Disney said YouTube TV refused to pay fair rates and accused Google of using market dominance.
