He continued to post videos with the song, and so did fans as they hoped their favorite couple would eventually get back together post-Villa, even noticing that she reposted a video on TikTok months earlier that says "Imagine being someone's Iris." She was born in 1999, just one year after the Goo Goo Dolls song was released."
TJ Palma used the Goo Goo Dolls' 1998 song "Iris" in a TikTok compilation of his relationship with Iris Kendall the day before his Love Island elimination, prompting fans to repost and share the song. Kendall had previously reposted a TikTok captioned "Imagine being someone's Iris." The song received a major streaming boost in summer 2025, reaching no. 9 on Spotify Global Streaming charts on September 25 and peaking at no. 12 on the weekly Global chart. "Iris" entered the Billboard streaming charts on July 5, remained for 12 weeks with a peak of no. 39, and had earlier resurfaced via the Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack, Shrinking season two, and a May 2025 performance at Demi Lovato's wedding.
