Eric Dane died on February 19 at the age of 53. Alyssa Milano remembered his spark, razor-sharp sense of humor, love of absurdity, and ability to catch people off guard. Dane joined the cast in season five as Jason Dean, who works with and dates Milano's character Phoebe. Sam Levinson expressed heartbreak and offered prayers for Dane's family. I AM ALS described Dane as a fierce advocate who used his platform for action, brought humility and visibility to ALS, and helped drive advocacy, research funding, and a push toward treatments and a cure.
