"I wouldn't have been involved if I didn't have the blessing of Avery Brooks," Lofton tells Inverse. " I also look at this episode as a bridging of two different generations of Star Trek; we are part of the legacy Star Trek now, one of the first five shows, and now this is the future of Star Trek."
""I knew a man who always championed me," Jake says. "Especially in my writing."
""Series Acclimation Mil""
Jake Sisko chose a career as an author rather than joining Starfleet, focusing on exploring the human condition instead of space exploration. Jake's path remains distinct among legacy characters and stands apart from his father, Benjamin Sisko. Jake appears as an archived holographic recording in the Starfleet Academy episode "Series Acclimation Mil," set at the end of the 32nd century, over 800 years after Deep Space Nine concluded in 2375. The hologram reflects on Ben Sisko's promise to return and on Sisko's support of Jake, especially in his writing.
