Tammy and her sister Amy began publicly sharing their lives online before appearing on the reality series that tracked their weight-loss journeys. Tammy reported a highest weight above 700 pounds and entered rehab for food addiction, briefly leaving a centre in 2021 after losing 60 pounds. She later reached 725 pounds, suffered respiratory failure, and was placed in an induced coma before hospital release. In 2022 Tammy underwent bariatric surgery and reduced her weight to about 238 pounds. Tammy came out as pansexual in 2021 and later became engaged to Andrea.
