Meanwhile, AI PCs are increasing sales but not the primary driver for Windows 11 growth. Analysts predict that by 2026, most PCs will be equipped with AI silicon, indicating a significant market shift ahead.
Despite some challenges with hardware compatibility, Windows 11 adoption is rebounding as it finishes January with a market share of 36.6%.
CFO Amy Hood noted a 4% revenue increase in the Windows OEM and Devices unit, aligning with year-on-year expectations and the end of Windows 10 support.
CEO Satya Nadella pointed out that while AI PCs are gaining traction, they are not currently the primary driver behind the Windows 11 adoption trend.
The closing gap between Windows 10 and Windows 11 indicates a shift in user preference, partly fueled by the impending end of support for Windows 10.
