Despite substantial efforts from Microsoft to transition customers to Windows 11, the latest statistics from Statcounter reveal a concerning stall in market share growth, indicating users' resistance to change and growing preference for Windows 10.
Statcounter's recent figures show Windows 11's market share has dropped from 35.6 percent to 34.9 percent, while Windows 10 has made limited gains, now representing 61.8 percent of the market after adding nearly a percentage point.
In the United States, Windows 11's share has declined significantly, falling over 3 percent as users appear less enthusiastic about the new operating system compared to the increasing adoption of Windows 10.
The declining usage of Windows 11 and its strict hardware requirements are leading many users to hold onto Windows 10, particularly as Microsoft pushes full-screen upgrade ads that users seem reluctant to act upon.
