The 2024 update for Windows 11 has introduced a critical issue where the System File Checker (SFC) tool gets stuck in a loop of reporting corrupted files. Users who run the SFC tool report that despite repairs being made, the tool continually returns false positives, indicating the same files are corrupt each time it's executed.
This problem, which first emerged with testers in the Windows Insider Program, has persisted into the production version of Windows 11 24H2. As a result, the once reliable SFC tool is now less effective for diagnosing and fixing system file issues, leaving users frustrated with its performance.
