David Sacks, the White House's AI and crypto czar, emphasized the need for stronger export controls on US-made chips during the All-In podcast. He noted that despite existing regulations, China continues to acquire controlled chips through front companies. Sacks expressed concern over the lack of vigilance among Western tech companies in adhering to export rules, suggesting that some avoid scrutiny for profit. He called for increased resources for the Bureau of Industry and Security, stressing that the agency is understaffed given its crucial role in monitoring chip exports.
During Friday's episode of the All-In podcast, Sacks said China continues to get its hands on regulated chips from the US despite export controls.
