Verizon experienced a significant nationwide outage affecting millions, predominantly in the Midwest, where users reported being in SOS mode and unable to access services.
Over 100,000 customers reported issues through Downdetector, with the number of reports skyrocketing from 3,800 to nearly 85,000 within an hour, indicating widespread outage.
An outage report said, 'The outage began around 9:30 am ET, with many unable to send calls or texts. Verizon has not yet commented on the situation.'
Users reported varied experiences, noting some could briefly access 5G by toggling airplane mode, but connectivity would quickly revert back to SOS mode.
