"Samaneh Ghandali, 41, and her husband Mohammadjavad Khosravi (aka Mohammad Khosravi), 40, along with her sister Soroor Ghandali, 32, have been accused of conspiring to commit trade secret theft from Google and other leading technology companies, theft and attempted theft of trade secrets, and obstruction of justice. The three defendants, all Iranian nationals and residing in San Jose, were arrested on Thursday and made their initial appearances in federal district court in the California city."
Three San Jose residents were indicted on charges including conspiring to commit trade secret theft, theft and attempted theft of trade secrets, and obstruction of justice. The defendants are Samaneh Ghandali, 41; her husband Mohammadjavad Khosravi, 40; and her sister Soroor Ghandali, 32. The U.S. Department of Justice alleges the Ghandali sisters worked at Google and later at another technology company, while Khosravi worked at a separate firm; all held roles in mobile computer processors. Investigators allege they used employment access to exfiltrate confidential documents, including processor security and cryptography trade secrets, to unauthorized locations and to Iran. Google said it alerted law enforcement and strengthened safeguards; the alleged stolen trade secrets related to the Tensor processor for Pixel phones. The defendants were arrested and made initial federal court appearances in San Jose.
