Thousands of Verizon users in California impacted by nationwide outage
"The company is "aware of a software issue impacting wireless service for some customers," a Verizon spokesperson told SFGATE in an emailed statement. According to Downdetector, a website on which people can report cell service outages, the number of posted reports peaked in the period slightly after noon, with over 22,000 Verizon users reporting outages. In that period, over 1,300 users in LA reported outages in Downdetector."

According to Downdetector, the cities in which Verizon outages have been reported the most include Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Orlando, Tampa, Minneapolis, Miami, Omaha and Indianapolis."

Verizon encouraged affected users to check the company network status page for updates. No estimate was provided for full service restoration.
