T-Mobile US acquires US Cellular's wireless business, 30% of its spectrum assets, and will handle US Cellular customers' phone plans, aiming for extra savings and free international roaming access.
The deal excludes US Cellular's hardware assets, leaving the company with its phone towers, and transferring some of its debt to T-Mobile while projecting up to $7 billion in total acquisition cost.
