"Today, Heroku is transitioning to a sustaining engineering model focused on stability, security, reliability, and support."
"actively supported, production-ready platform, with an emphasis on maintaining quality and operational excellence rather than introducing new features."
"We're focusing our product and engineering investments on areas where we can deliver the greatest long-term customer value, including helping organizations build and deploy enterprise-grade AI in a secure and trusted way."
Salesforce is halting new feature development for Heroku and shifting the platform to a sustaining engineering model that emphasizes stability, security, reliability, and support. Heroku will remain an actively supported, production-ready platform, but new feature work will cease and enterprise contracts will not be offered to new customers. Existing customers can continue using and renewing Heroku subscriptions. Heroku runs on AWS EC2 and uses PostgreSQL. Salesforce acquired Heroku in 2010 and is concentrating product and engineering investments on areas that deliver long-term customer value, particularly enterprise-grade AI and related offerings like Agentforce.
