Amusement parks, notorious for long lines, are beginning to leverage artificial intelligence to improve visitor experiences. Legoland, for example, has implemented Vision AI, which uses cameras to monitor the number of people on rides and allows management to respond dynamically to operational issues. This marks a significant shift from outdated methods that relied on paper data logs. Meanwhile, SeaWorld has opened a new ride, Expedition Odyssey, which emphasizes immersive experiences using real footage, further underlining the industry's embrace of technology to enhance visitor engagement and reduce wait times.
"We're using a technology called Vision AI," Adrian Thompson, operations transformation director for Legoland, explained about real-time data collection for enhancing guest experiences.
"If they see anomalies in that data - the number of dispatches has reduced or the queue times have gone up - they can take action at that moment," Thompson added.
Conner Carr noted about Expedition Odyssey, "There's no CGI in it; the standard on those ride types has always been to give guests a true sense of immersion."
The incorporation of AI in theme parks represents a significant shift from traditional methods, transforming guest experiences by reducing wait times and enhancing safety.
