
Meta will begin testing two paid subscription services for its Meta AI app and website, first available in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia. The rollout coincides with the official release of premium subscription plans for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Higher-tier versions of its verification subscription service for businesses will also be released. Zuckerberg said a potential cloud computing business is “definitely on the table,” which could position Meta against Amazon, Microsoft, and Google in cloud infrastructure. Meta’s first-quarter revenue totaled $56.3 billion, with nearly 98% coming from advertising. Meta’s fastest growth rate for any quarter since 2021 indicates continued strength in the online ad market despite AI-driven concerns about shifting user behavior away from link-heavy screens.
