"Temerario means 'courageous' in Spanish and is the name of a fighting bull that fought in 1875," Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann stated, highlighting the legacy and significance behind the new supercar's name. He emphasized the importance of embracing the challenge of succeeding the best-selling Huracan, which has set a high standard for future Lamborghini models.
"It will be a key player in a market that is growing bigger but is also very crowded," Winkelmann noted. He expressed confidence in the Temerario's potential impact, indicating that Lamborghini anticipates its new hybrid supercar to outperform the Huracan in sales and popularity due to its innovative design and performance capabilities.
The Temerario boasts a powerful hybrid system that combines a biturbo V8 engine with three electric motors for a total output of 907 horsepower, capable of reaching 0-62 mph in just 2.7 seconds. The design also emphasizes aerodynamics, achieving 103% better rear downforce compared to the Huracan EVO, enhancing its performance on the road and track.
The supercar's aesthetic features a sharp front end and minimalist aluminum body panels which Lamborghini calls 'pure.'
