Joby stock hits record high after deal to take over Blade infrastructure in NYC, Europe, and elsewhere
Briefly

Joby Aviation has reached a $125 million agreement to acquire Blade's urban air mobility passenger business, gaining access to infrastructure, routes, and customers. The acquisition includes Blade's operations in the U.S. and Europe and aims to assist Joby in launching its eVTOL vehicles. Joby is nearing the certification process with the FAA, allowing for a transition from traditional helicopters to air taxis. Blade will rebrand its medical division as Strata and focus on services not included in the acquisition.
This is a strategically important acquisition that will support the successful launch of Joby's commercial operations in Dubai, our subsequent global rollout and our continued leadership in the sector.
The acquisition includes Blade's brand and passenger business, which operates in the United States and Europe, providing Joby access to Blade's infrastructure, routes, and customers.
