Google will soon ship Chrome updates every two weeks

Google is halving the time between Chrome browser releases to two weeks across desktop, Android, and iOS platforms, beginning September 8th with Chrome 153. The company justifies this acceleration by emphasizing the constantly advancing web platform and the need to provide developers and users immediate access to performance improvements, security fixes, and new capabilities. Despite more frequent releases, Google asserts that smaller scope changes will minimize disruption and maintain stability through recent process enhancements. Extended Stable releases for enterprise users remain on an eight-week cycle. Beta releases will also occur every two weeks, allowing enterprise users advance visibility of potential compatibility issues. Google maintains extended release options for Chromebook users.
