Google offered millions to ally itself with Euro trade body
Briefly

Google dangled hundreds of millions of euros in financial incentives to the Cloud Infrastructure Service Providers in Europe (CISPE) in a bid to gain support against Microsoft.
During a presentation, Amit Zavery proposed a Members Innovation Fund of €4 million and an additional €10 million to bolster CISPE's capacity and resources.
Central to Google's offering was €100 million in software credits for Google Distributed Cloud aimed at making it financially attractive for CISPE members.
The aim of the financial incentives was reportedly to persuade CISPE to continue its complaint against Microsoft's costly licensing policies.
