Global PC sales could face a major hurdle in 2025
Briefly

According to IDC's latest report, global sales for PCs and tablets could struggle due to projected US tariffs on Chinese goods. The forecast shows PC sales reaching 273 million units in 2025, marking only a 3.7% increase from the previous year. The tablet market is expected to decline slightly, further indicating consumer saturation. Economic uncertainties are leading to a negative demand trend across the largest PC market, although commercial demand for PCs might provide some growth momentum through education and business sectors.
Price hikes stemming from tariffs in the US combined with subdued demand are leading to a negative impact within the largest market for PCs.
However, the weakness amongst consumer demand is universal as macro issues persist. There are still some silver linings though: workstation volume should remain healthy.
