The buoyant 5G market is set to enhance overall mobile services revenue growth in New Zealand, with an expected CAGR of 2.5% reaching $1.7bn by 2029.
Despite a declining trend in mobile voice services, mobile data revenue is expected to grow at a 5.8% CAGR due to increased adoption of 5G services.
4G will remain the leading mobile technology by subscriptions until 2029, but the fastest growth will be seen in 5G subscriptions, expected to hit 46% market share.
As of July 2024, Spark's 5G network covers 103 locations, with plans to extend to all towns with populations over 1,500 by 2026.
