Faulty CrowdStrike Update Crashes Windows Systems, Impacting Businesses Worldwide

CrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts. Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted. This is not a security incident or cyberattack.
For systems impacted by the problem, instructions include booting Windows in Safe Mode, deleting the file 'C-00000291*.sys', and restarting the computer normally.
The outage also affected Google Cloud Compute Engine, leading Windows VMs using CrowdStrike's csagent.sys to crash and reboot unexpectedly.
