Google's Project Nimbus, a $1.2 billion cloud computing and AI agreement, includes Google and Amazon providing technology to various arms of the Israeli state. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has a secure landing zone into Google Cloud.
Google provided the Israeli Ministry of Defense with a 15% discount on consulting fees as part of the Nimbus framework. This is the first public contract revealing the ministry as a Google Cloud customer.
While Google claims its work for the Israeli government is mainly for civilian purposes, the partnership includes Project Nimbus which allows Israeli state arms to access Google's technology despite contractual limitations.
