Altice Optimum Exec Shares Details on Multi-Gigabit DOCSIS and Fiber Plans
Briefly

Altice, under the Optimum brand, is enhancing its broadband network to offer multi-gigabit speeds through a mix of fiber and DOCSIS 3.1. By implementing mid-split technology, the company aims to improve upstream bandwidth, a key area where cable companies have struggled compared to fiber providers. Altice is targeting to provide these multi-gigabit speeds across 65% of its infrastructure by 2028, significantly up from the current 30%. The company anticipates supporting downstream speeds of up to 2 Gbps via DOCSIS and up to 8 Gbps on fiber, with existing fiber access to three million locations.
