Matt Garman became CEO of Amazon Web Services in June 2024 after running sales and marketing. AWS faced a mass layoff targeting 16,000 employees. A leaked organizational chart lists 15 executives reporting to Garman and shows six new reports, ten retained executives, and two departures since January 2025. New reports include Brad Bonnett (technical advisor, rejoined from Google in 2024), Chet Kapoor (VP, Security Services and Observability, joined from DataStax), G2 Krishnamoorthy (VP, Database Services, joined 2022 from Meta), David Brown (VP, Compute & ML Services, EC2, 19-year Amazon veteran), Mai-Lan Tomsen Bukovec (VP, AWS Tech, joined 2010), and Swami Sivasubramanian (VP, Agentic AI, appointed March 2025).
