This beverage brand CEO says making his products in the US has been essential to his success
Briefly

Cirkul's journey began in 2015 when the co-founders, Garrett Waggoner and Andy Gay, created a novel water-enhancing cartridge system. Initially, the lack of available manufacturers led them to hand-fill the cartridges themselves starting in 2018. By managing production in the US, they fostered a quick feedback loop, allowing innovative improvements in product design. This agile approach contributed to their partnership with Walmart and a $1 billion valuation by 2022, alongside substantial expansion with facilities in Florida and Utah.
Waggoner and Gay had no formal background in manufacturing or operations, but back in 2018 we leased a little warehouse and started filling cartridges by hand at night.
Making the product overseas wasn't even an option, since there weren't any contract manufacturers who could do the job.
