The Round Table has decided to cancel the annual charity fireworks display in Carshalton Park due to insufficient support from Sutton Council and declining membership.
The Round Table, which has hosted the event since the 1950s, cited increasing member time commitments and rising costs as significant factors in the cancellation decision.
Despite the cancellation of the fireworks display, The Round Table remains committed to local charity work and is seeking alternative fundraising activities for the community.
A spokesperson from the London Borough of Sutton expressed regret over the decision and stated that they are willing to assist community groups like The Round Table.
