OpenAI is enhancing the user experience of ChatGPT with its new Advanced Voice Mode (AVM), designed to make interactions feel more natural through speech and voice variations.
The revamped AVM features a blue animated sphere, and introduces five new nature-inspired voices—Arbor, Maple, Sol, Spruce, and Vale—resulting in a total of nine available voices for users.
OpenAI removed the voice Sky from their offerings after legal threats from Scarlett Johansson, who claimed its similarity to her own voice was unintentional but notable.
While Advanced Voice Mode is rolling out to Plus and Teams customers, the previously announced video and screen sharing features from Spring's update are still pending with no specific launch timeline.
