"Abbie Beggs is a business owner and content creator. In 2020, during the first Covid-19 lockdown, when she was 20 and facing into her final year at university, she decided to launch Bound Apparel to fill a gap she identified in the market. There were plenty of leggings suitable for time spent at the gym, but what about the other hours of the day?"
"How did your upbringing influence your relationship with money? I grew up in a pretty normal family, but sport was a big part of my life. My parents invested a lot in that and always supported our dreams, which I feel very lucky for. Through sport I got to travel and have really unique experiences, and to this day I still prioritise spending money on experiences and travel over material things."
Abbie Beggs launched Bound Apparel during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown at age 20 to create leggings suited for all-day wear rather than just gym sessions. She co-founded the business with Ríain Gilna and grew the company from a kitchen-table brainstorm into an operating concern. Beggs maintains an active lifestyle including gym sessions, reformer pilates, and long walks with friends. She values experiences and travel over material goods, influenced by a sport-focused upbringing supported by her parents. Beggs has experienced budgeting challenges in her teens and university years and has started automating savings to improve financial habits.
