I went to Christmas pop-up shop in Dublin selling misplaced packages and this is what was in my mystery parcels
"The concept has drawn huge crowds across Europe because some shoppers abroad have found everything from collectable gold bars to rare Pokémon cards worth up to €2,000. The start-up said that it buys lost e-commerce packages, repackages them and sells them in their "original state", offering shoppers a "real-life treasure hunt" and said it prevents thousands of items from being destroyed. However, it's worth noting that after my visit, a huge amount of packaging was left behind."
"You get 10 minutes inside and can choose between standard parcels priced at €2.49 per 100 grams or premium ones at €2.99 per 100 grams. I was first given a sample box worth €90 to see what's on offer, then, shopping like a regular customer, I rummaged through the piles and picked out my own parcels, which came to €20.79. In total, I opened 14 misplaced packages. What I found could generously be described as eclectic and less generously described as disappointing."
King Colis sells repackaged lost e-commerce parcels as mystery boxes at The Square Tallaght, offering a timed 10-minute browsing experience. Customers choose standard parcels at €2.49 per 100 g or premium at €2.99 per 100 g. The company purchases lost packages, sells them in their 'original state', and claims to prevent destruction of thousands of items. A sample box valued at €90 and a personal €20.79 haul of 14 packages yielded an eclectic mix, including headphones, clothing, and miscellaneous small items. Large crowds queued to browse, but many purchases proved disappointing and packaging was left behind.
