Broadband One, Inc. has successfully launched its high-speed broadband service in Savannah, Georgia, marking its second market expansion after Salinas, California. With its innovative Fixed Wireless Access using mmWave technology, BB1 offers a high-performance alternative to traditional fiber networks, particularly in challenging deployment areas like Savannah's historic district. This initiative highlights the company's goal of bridging broadband gaps and expanding connectivity in the Southeast US. BB1 plans further growth into nearby markets, leveraging its licensed spectrum to deliver faster, reliable internet without the delays associated with fiber installation.
"With FWA-mmWave, all we need is a rooftop and a clear line of sight from our tower-now businesses have access to high-speed, enterprise-grade internet without the wait," said Jason Celaya, Director of Business Development at BroadbandOne.
"One of BB1's biggest advantages is our ability to speed up market access. In areas where fiber deployment is still years away, we offer a faster alternative."
The Savannah launch marks BB1's second market expansion, following its successful deployment in Salinas, Calif. in October when it announced a strategic partnership with Etheric Networks.
BB1's licensed spectrum advantage differentiates it from other wireless providers in the region. Unlike unlicensed solutions that may suffer from congestion and interference, BB1's exclusive mmWave spectrum delivers interference-free, high-capacity performance.
