Aqua is a dedicated IDE for test automation released May 16 and available at jetbrains.com. Aqua supports Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright out of the box and enables building automated tests for UIs, APIs, and other application areas. Aqua is polyglot, with understanding of Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL, and includes a test runner, debugger, AI coding assistance, code completion, and refactoring. Aqua provides database connectivity and verification, an editor-based HTTP client for complex requests and assertions, Docker support, and an embedded web inspector. A public preview began in November 2022; commercial and free beginner licenses are available.
