Shirley Raines, known as Ms. Shirley, built Beauty 2 The Streetz and used a large social media platform to serve homeless communities in Los Angeles' Skid Row and in California and Nevada. She provided food, beauty treatments and hygiene supplies and amassed more than 5 million TikTok followers. Raines began working with homeless populations in 2017 and was named CNN's Hero of the Year in 2021. She had six children; the earlier death of a son drove her commitment to help those without family. She was found unresponsive in her Nevada home; cause of death has not been released and the family awaits autopsy results.
