The Resist & Build Summit in Atlanta, May 2025, attracted over 300 solidarity economy activists to discuss the importance of historical awareness in building future movements. Keynote speaker Stephanie Guilloud from Project South highlighted that understanding our past is essential for creating robust systems of infrastructure that sustain communities. The conference underscored Atlanta's significant role in the civil rights movement and the need for community institutions like historically Black colleges and banks as vital supports for economic empowerment. This gathering aimed at connecting movements for systemic change through a collective understanding of infrastructure's role in social progress.
