In October 2022, Rezgar Beigzadeh Babamiri aided injured protesters in Iran during widespread demonstrations following Mahsa Amini's death. As a father of three, he delivered medical supplies secretly, motivated by a moral obligation to help. Fears of police patrolling hospitals deterred many from seeking help. In April 2023, Babamiri was arrested and later received a death sentence for charges including armed insurrection. His family, particularly his daughter, has reacted with shock and despair at the severe punishment.
