Neil Young has ceased all activities on his official Facebook page in response to a Reuters report on Meta's AI chatbots. The report indicated that chatbots could engage in 'romantic or sensual' conversations with minors. Young's administrator stated his disapproval of Meta's practices. An internal Meta document revealed that it is acceptable to describe children in attractive terms. Meta confirmed the document's authenticity but stated it is being revised and that such content violates their policies.
Meta's use of chatbots with children is unconscionable. Mr. Young does not want a further connection with FACEBOOK.

The examples and notes in question were and are erroneous and inconsistent with our policies, and have been removed.
Young previously announced in 2019 that he would personally stop using Facebook over its obvious commitments to right-wing politics.
