Courthouse trailblazer Izetta Johnson celebrated for Black History Month

Izetta Johnson, a significant figure in the New York State Unified Court System for 35 years, was honored with an interactive trivia game organized by the Black History Month Committee. The event, themed 'African Americans and Labor,' allowed participants to showcase their knowledge of Black history while reflecting on Johnson's contributions. Although attendance was modest, enthusiasm was high. Hon. Deborah Dowling won the contest and expressed joy in the event's structure which intertwined courthouse history with Black heritage. The event served to commemorate Johnson's legacy and promote awareness of Black history.
