'Breakfast with the Justices': Intimate meet and greet with Appellate Term judges spearheaded by Staten Island Women's Bar
Briefly

The SIWBA organized a "Breakfast with the Justices of the Appellate Term" on June 5 at Richmond County Supreme Court, engaging interns and promoting community ties within the legal profession. Judges from various districts, including Hon. Wavny Toussaint and Hon. Raymond Rodriguez, attended the event. Incoming president Stephanie DiLorenzo expressed that the breakfast aimed to boost membership and foster connections. Following the breakfast, judges addressed oral arguments in key legal areas. The Appellate Term plays a vital role in reviewing decisions from lower courts, contributing significantly to the New York City court system.
It's also the beginning of our membership year, so we also figured it might be a good way to get our membership numbers up a bit, said DiLorenzo.
The wearing of two hats allows me to handle cases from the Supreme Court and hear appeals, which is a terrific blend, stated Justice Toussaint.
Hon. Raymond Rodriguez described the breakfast as a wonderful event, aiming to strengthen connections within the legal community.
The event featured judges from the Second, 11th, and 13th Judicial Districts, emphasizing the collaboration between different areas of the legal system.
