Yates urges Forest to move on swiftly after Postecoglous dismissal - Soccer News
"The news broke - it's the nature of the beast. We haven't been good enough on the pitch, and we have to take a lot of responsibility."
"We owe it to the fans moving forward to start getting some really good results and take it from there."
"[Postecoglou spoke] to us straight after the game. I went out to do some running, then I was told. A little bit shocked. You get used to it in football, and you have to move on quickly."
Ange Postecoglou was relieved of his duties as Nottingham Forest head coach after a run of disappointing results and performances. He left after 39 days, the shortest managerial reign of any permanent Premier League boss to exit during the season. Forest lost 3-0 to Chelsea at the City Ground with second-half goals from Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto and Reece James. The club failed to win any of eight matches under Postecoglou, exited the EFL Cup to Swansea City and began Europa League play with a draw and a defeat. Ryan Yates said players must take responsibility, recover quickly and deliver better results amid a congested schedule. The club issued a brief confirmation of the sacking and declined further comment.
