Women's transfer spending doubles to $6.8m
Briefly

In the mid-year window from June 1 to Sept. 1, 2024, spending on women's international transfers reached $6.8 million, a nearly 100% increase from 2023.
A record 1,125 transfers were registered in women's football this year, marking a 31.8% rise from last year, indicating a growing market for women's sports.
Clubs spent an average of $71,400 on each player in transfers with fees, significantly up from $45,000 in 2023, reflecting the increasing value placed on female players.
The United States led in acquisitions with 128 new players, partly due to the launch of the United Soccer League aligning with the international calendar.
