Weekend Warm-up: As fans fret, Bayern Munich, Dayot Upamecano still not in agreement; Bundesliga predictions; Throwing it back to Rob Zombie; and MORE!
"Contract negotiations with Dayot Upamecano are still dragging on, after everyone had expected an agreement to be reached quickly. As things stand, there are still two main sticking points. Contract negotiations with Dayot Upamecano remain stalled because of two key issues: the contract length (2030 versus 2031) and the timing of the release clause. Upamecano's camp wants the release clause to be valid as early as 2027, while Bayern prefers it to take effect in 2028. Salary and signing-fee terms of about €20m each are agreed between both parties. Negotiations could still take days, and an extension is still expected. Max Eberl denied that a practical agreement exists and said the club is waiting for Upamecano's answer. Vincent Kompany emphasized ensuring the player feels comfortable and performs at his best.
