Wales chief extols Rob, Ryan 'legacy' role for WWC
Briefly

Wales is the sole bidder for the expanded 48-team Women's World Cup in 2035, with plans for two venues in the country. The Football Association of Wales aims for Cardiff City Stadium in the south and Wrexham's redeveloped STōK Cae Ras in the north. Wrexham owners Reynolds and Mac are pursuing a stadium expansion, potentially increasing capacity to 18,000, with future plans to accommodate 45,000 to 55,000 spectators. FAW chief executive Noel Mooney praises their vision and emphasizes how it could leave a lasting legacy for the community and the club.
The FAW wants one in the south of the country -- probably Cardiff City Stadium rather than Welsh rugby's Principality Stadium home -- and one in the north, Wrexham's redeveloped STōK Cae Ras home.
The pair -- who were in attendance on Saturday to watch newly promoted Wrexham play their first home game in the Championship -- said in May 2024 that development on all four sides of the ground could lead to 'between 45,000 and 55,000 people in there.'
